Your catalog is out there.
But is it complete?
Most automotive aftermarket brands are losing sales they don't know exist — undiscovered fitment, catalog data degraded or corrupted in transit through repositories, and coverage gaps that no spreadsheet will ever surface. Auto Plus is the ACES and PIES catalog management platform built to show you what you're missing — and give you the tools to fix it.
The Silent Loss Chain
Nobody in the automotive aftermarket supply chain is lying. Nobody is negligent. The system is designed to pass along what exists — not to surface what's missing or flag what's been changed along the way. The losses compound silently at every link.
Undiscovered Applications
Most catalog tools confirm what you already know. You map the fitment you're aware of, validate it, and move on. The applications you didn't think to look for never enter the picture — and never enter the supply chain.
Auto Plus is built for discovery, not just confirmation. The way we approach vehicle fitment means a brand can find valid applications their previous tools never surfaced — not because the data was wrong, but because the tool was asking the wrong question from the wrong direction.
Brands have discovered hundreds of unmapped, undiscovered valid applications per part number. Not across a catalog — per part number. Multiply that across a full product line and across every trading partner in the automotive aftermarket distribution chain. That is not a data quality problem. That is a tool problem — and it is entirely solvable.
Lost CoverageRepository Data Loss — and Repository Data Corruption
When a brand submits ACES and PIES catalog data to a third-party repository, it arrives as authored — correct or not, it is at least as the brand intended it. What happens next is the problem.
Repositories import submitted data into their own internal database. In that process, data is normalized, mapped, and in many cases altered — before it ever becomes available for a receiver to download. The flat file a receiver pulls has already been through that process. So has the industry-standard XML. Both delivery formats reflect what the repository's internal database contains, not what the brand originally submitted. A brand can send their full catalog and have every trading partner download a version that is smaller, different, or both — without either party knowing anything changed.
That is the loss side. The corruption side is worse. Many repositories over-map ACES attributes during their internal import process in order to satisfy their largest receiver clients — adding fitment combinations the brand never authored or approved. Vehicle fitment configuration is precise: a specific engine or fuel type narrows the pool of valid vehicle combinations. A repository that adds attributes without accounting for the full original application configuration creates fitment records that are technically invalid — records the brand never wrote and never approved.
For a receiver validating against the VCdb, those additions come back as invalids the brand never submitted. For a receiver importing without validation, those records go live on their public-facing retail site. A consumer finds a part that appears to fit their vehicle. It does not. They buy it, it is wrong, they return it. The trust between consumer and retailer suffers. The brand absorbs the blame for fitment data they never authored.
Both brands and receivers are Auto Care Association subscribers in their own right. A receiver is free to over-map or under-map their own copy of the data — that is their prerogative. But that decision belongs to the receiver, working from the brand's actual catalog as the authoritative starting point. Not to a repository altering it invisibly, upstream, before anyone else ever sees it. ACES and PIES data should reach the receiver the way the brand authored and intended it. Everything after that is the receiver's call.
Data Degradation & CorruptionInvalid Applications Without a Reason
ACES has only four required fields: part number, quantity required per application, part type, and BaseVehicleID. When applications come back invalid, the cause is almost always an optional qualifying attribute — a deprecated vehicle configuration, an engine that no longer maps correctly to that base vehicle, a required qualifier that shifted between VCdb release cycles. Each scenario requires a completely different resolution. When repositories report invalids without any explanation of why, brands cannot diagnose what failed. The invalids sit. The coverage gap remains.
Optional ACES attributes exist for one purpose only: to unambiguously qualify vehicle fitment where the base vehicle alone is insufficient. Over-mapping — adding qualifiers beyond what the fitment actually requires — does not make an application more accurate. It creates new exposure to future VCdb changes. Every unnecessary attribute mapped is a potential invalid waiting for the next release cycle.
Auto Plus applies proprietary logic to identify exactly why each application failed and presents a plain-language explanation the user can act on immediately — for example, flagging that a specific drive type is not valid in configuration with the mapped base vehicle. It also identifies where applications carry more qualification than the fitment requires, so you can resolve today's invalids and prevent tomorrow's.
Unresolvable ErrorsOverlap Applications — Silently Dropped
When two or more part numbers share identical fitment mapping with no differentiating qualifier, retailers cannot onboard them. There is no logic to determine which product to surface, so both are dropped. Real products with real distinctions never reach the consumer. The brand built two legitimate SKUs. The market never sees either one clearly.
The resolution already exists within the ACES standard. Most brands never apply it correctly — not because they lack the intention, but because they lack the guidance. Auto Plus identifies overlap conditions and shows you exactly where qualification is missing. What to do about it is a conversation worth having in a demo.
Lost SKU Visibility"The retailer posts the valid records and moves to the next brand. The brand believes their catalog data is working for them. Neither party ever sees what the consumer searched for and didn't find."
Two Sides of the Same Chain
Auto Plus serves both the brands building ACES and PIES catalog data and the distributors and retailers receiving it. The problem looks different on each side. The platform addresses both.
Data Suppliers
You have invested in your catalog. The question is whether what you have built is actually reaching the market the way you intended — and whether you are covering every application your products legitimately fit.
- Discover fitment your current tools cannot see
- Build PIES and proprietary content that rises above the standard — standing apart from competitors sending the same fields to the same trading partners
- Validate ACES and PIES data at the source, before it leaves your hands
- Understand every invalid application and exactly why it failed
- Own your catalog data on your own infrastructure
Data Receivers
You onboard what arrives. But what arrives through a repository is often a fraction of what a brand actually built — and what it does contain may have been altered before it reached you. Your job is to sell parts. Auto Plus gives you the tools to do that — not more cataloging work that should have been done by the brand.
- Onboard validated ACES and PIES data with confidence
- Identify invalid and overlap applications before they go live
- Manage multi-brand automotive catalog data at scale
- Receive data the way brands authored it — unaltered
- Build your own content layer above the standard for ecommerce and agentic commerce — without rewriting the brand's data
Catalog Management Built for What the Standard Demands — and Beyond
Auto Plus is comprehensive, customer-hosted ACES and PIES catalog management software. Compliance is the floor. The platform is built to take you well above it.
Data You Can Trust
Validation against the Auto Care standards at every step of the catalog management process. Invalid ACES applications don't just get flagged — they get explained. Auto Plus applies proprietary logic to identify exactly why an application failed and presents a plain-language reason the user can act on immediately.
What leaves your system is what the ACES and PIES standards will accept. What fails tells you precisely why — and what correction to make.
ACES ValidationCoverage You Didn't Know You Were Missing
Fitment data management built for discovery, not just confirmation. The way Auto Plus approaches vehicle fitment against the VCdb means brands consistently surface valid applications their previous tools never found.
Import and reconcile catalog data from any source format with honest VCdb validation — what has a valid ACES application maps correctly; what does not exist in the standard is reported clearly, never fabricated.
Fitment DiscoveryPIES Content That Sells, Not Just Complies
Every ACES and PIES trading partner in the automotive aftermarket receives the same standard fields. That is parity — and parity is a race to the middle. The brands that win in ecommerce, and that will win as agentic commerce matures, are the ones who have built above the standard.
Auto Plus manages the full depth of PIES — every segment, validated — with tools to enrich product content beyond what compliance requires. Content that gives your products a reason to stand out on any shelf, digital or physical.
PIES ManagementYour Infrastructure. Your Data. Your Terms.
Auto Plus is customer-hosted. Your application and your MS SQL Server database live in your environment — your own server, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, RDP, or Citrix. Your catalog data never passes through our hands.
The database schema is open and fully accessible. Query it directly, connect your BI tools, build custom integrations, feed your ERP. No permission required. No Rivers Edge between you and your data. No subscription that changes what you are allowed to do with your own most valuable commercial asset.
Why It MattersYour catalog data is your most valuable commercial asset.
SaaS platforms that host your catalog aren't just a vendor — they are a landlord. Pricing changes. Acquisitions happen. APIs get deprecated. Every one of those decisions is made by someone else, with your data, on their timeline.
Auto Plus runs where you run. Install it on your own server, deploy it on Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure, or access it through RDP or Citrix. The choice is yours. What never changes is who controls it.
The database is Microsoft SQL Server — open and unencrypted. Smaller operations run the free Express edition at no additional cost. Larger customers who already own a licensed SQL Server instance simply script the Auto Plus database into their existing environment. Either way, the schema is fully accessible: query it directly, connect your BI tools, build custom integrations, feed your ERP. No permission required. No Rivers Edge in the middle.
As agentic commerce matures and AI systems begin querying product catalog data directly, the brands with structured, enriched, API-accessible PIES and ACES data on their own infrastructure will have a decisive advantage. That foundation starts with owning your data today.
